TechConnect

TechConnect extends the functionality of our customer management and billing systems to providers’ field staff and reduces the time spent interfacing with customer service representatives (CSRs). With TechConnect, installers and field technicians access job and customer information via the Internet on low-cost, hand-held wireless data phones that display information about jobs, customers, outages, and more. They can then perform a range of services such as converter testing, job completion, e-mail responses and instant phone calls to customers.

Creating a direct link from the field technician to the customer increases operational efficiencies, reduces errors, and results in time savings. Using Wireless Markup Language (WML) and Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD) allows TechConnect to communicate with special Web browsers built into the data phone.

TechConnect increases revenue opportunities because field staff now have the ability to up-sell and provide the new service immediately, while still at the customer’s home.
