MAP
The separately managed account industry is experiencing
tremendous growth. This growth presents many administrative and technological
challenges for investment managers such as labor-intensive processes,
duplicate recordkeeping efforts, and relatively high costs.
DST developed Managed Asset Platform (MAP)
to streamline the full range of operational processes that support investment
managers and sponsors of separate and multiple discipline accounts.
MAP has an application service provider (ASP) infrastructure
that can provide clients with better management of separate accounts,
reduced administrative costs, and enhanced customer service. MAP is comprised
of three main components: Portfolio Management, Workflow, and Message
HubSM.
Portfolio Management offers a wide array of functions
including: decision support, order management and routing, and performance
measurement. Portfolio Management also offers a number of automated interfaces
such as a position and cash interface for new accounts, OASYS domestic/custom
trade allocation, an ongoing cash activity interface, and a position reconciliation
interface.
The Workflow component of MAP provides advanced image-enabled
workflow and customer management. Workflow creates parallel, rather than
serial, workflow for accounts - by providing multiple parties simultaneous
access to data and paperwork for new account creation, quality and compliance
review, notification of cash deposits and withdrawals, special manager
instructions, and more.
The Message Hub is a common trading protocol that integrates
with the sponsors' back office systems. The Message Hub incorporates a
robust communication infrastructure that has the ability to process more
than a million messages per day, in real time, with guaranteed delivery.
A rules-based architecture allows content and subject-based routing to
multiple target applications and sponsors.
The integration of Portfolio Management, Workflow, and
the Message Hub result in MAP, a single platform that can support multiple
distribution channelsa huge benefit for the investment manager.
Some other key features for the investment manager using MAP include:
- Workflow support for account administration
- Institutional quality portfolio modeling, compliance, and trading
tools
- Sophisticated interfaces for trading, reconciliation, and transaction
processing
- Accounting, performance measurement, and reporting
Managed account sponsors can expect to realize the following
benefits of MAP:
- Automated communications for timely and accurate exchange of information
- Integrated data transmission between sponsor and manager for efficient
account administration including:
- New account creation
- Notification of cash deposits and withdrawals
- Special manager instructions
MAP is a comprehensive, innovative solution that is available in the business model - full, remote, or selective - that best suits your needs.
