DST Systems, Inc. Announces Notification of Earnings Release

KANSAS CITY, MO. (September 20, 2005) ─ DST Systems, Inc. (NYSE: DST) will release its
financial results for the third quarter, ending September 30, 2005, on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, after the close of the market.

The Company will host a conference call on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, at 10:00 A.M. Central Standard Time (CST). The dial-in number is (877) 209-0397, callers should reference the Third Quarter Earnings Release. For international callers, the dial-in number is (612) 332-0932.
