DST commissioned market research specialists OnePoll to question 2,000 adults who have claimed on car, contents, home, pet, travel, or mobile phone insurance in the last 10 years. The company then surveyed 100 UK insurance staff, working within car, contents, home, pet, travel, or mobile phone insurance, and compared the results from the two groups in a number of key areas.

Encouragingly, the report found that the perceptions of insurers and customers are largely in line when it comes to the overall claims process, with 72% of customers either 'satisfied' or 'very satisfied' with their claims experience, compared to 71% of insurers when asked about their customers’ views.
