DST Retirement Solutions Announces Ad-hoc Reporting for Plan Sponsors

MFS Retirement Services pilots Advanced Analysis™ feature®

March 8, 2004

Kansas City , Mo. , March 8, 200 4 – DST Retirement Solutions now offers a robust Web-based ad-hoc reporting tool for plan sponsors. Launched in fourth quarter 2003, Advanced Analysis™ enables plan sponsors to access participant- and plan-level information from their providers quickly and easily through the Web. This user-friendly tool offers real-time search, sort and drill-down capabilities, and provides results in a downloadable file and a printer-friendly format.

Through Advanced Analysis, a plan sponsor can perform complex queries directly through the Web, without having to call the plan provider and wait for the provider to research the request and call back with an answer.

For example, a plan sponsor can quickly identify all participants hired after 1998, with portfolio balances greater than $20,000 and outstanding loans. The plan sponsor can further refine the search as needed. Search options include: participant loan balances, investment vehicle and money-type balances, and transaction history; as well as plan-level transactions, plan-level assets and payroll information.

This month, MFS Retirement Services piloted Advanced Analysis with several of its plan sponsors.

“MFS was a partner in developing Advanced Analysis,” explained Brendan Nolan, senior vice president of MFS Retirement Services. “We look to Advanced Analysis to handle a majority of the requests we get from plan sponsors on a daily basis. It's a huge resource-saving tool for us, and it enhances the quality of service we offer our clients.”

“The flexibility and sophisticated query capabilities Advanced Analysis offers sets it apart from similar ad-hoc reporting tools we've seen,” said Mike Looney, COO of MK Consulting (Baltimore, MD), a provider of innovative consulting and support solutions for the retirement benefits industry.

“DST's Advanced Analysis lets plan sponsors slice and dice plan-level data as they need it,” said Jim Walsh, officer in charge of DST Retirement Solutions. “It presents the information in a way that makes sense to them, based on the criteria that they set.”
