In 1969, Kansas City Southern Industries (KCSI) combined its expertise in recordkeeping with the growing needs of the mutual fund industry, and DST Systems was formed. DST set out to build a state-of-the-art shareholder recordkeeping system for the mutual fund industry. This system became DST’s technological foundation—supporting the rapid change and growth of the mutual fund industry.

DST is the leading provider of recordkeeping services to mutual funds and continues to modify the technology solutions offered to meet the demands of the fast-paced mutual fund industry.
