PowerStore

Setting the standard for optical storage, PowerStore® is AWD®’s large-volume back-end storage solution.

PowerStore extends AWD’s storage solution by providing a state-of-the-art hardware and software platform. It stores all compressed images viewed on AWD, such as letters, check stubs, and applications on optical disks - providing secured data for future use.

Also, PowerStore’s optical drive and jukebox support enable clients to select the most appropriate platform for their environment. PowerStore runs Microsoft NT and IBM OS/2 and can support heterogeneous technology environments.

PowerStore’s optical jukebox controller uses the entire array of resource management, error correction, and fault tolerance features of either OS/2 or NT. All networking and security capabilities are available as well. As a result, multiple stand-alone drives and jukeboxes can be supported in varying combinations. The upgrade path is simple: clients can start with a stand-alone jukebox; upgrade to a multidisk rapid-changer; or upgrade again to a jukebox without media conversion or application modification. Platter backups can be performed either on an entire platter or incrementally. PowerStore also enables clients to move a platter from one device to another without changing application data structures.
